What to Expect, Benefits, and Common Myths

Botox has become one of the most popular non-surgical aesthetic treatments today, and for good reason.
When performed by an experienced medical professional, Botox can soften wrinkles, help prevent deeper lines from forming, and leave you looking refreshed without altering your natural expressions.
At LUSH by LV, Botox is all about subtle, customized results that enhance what’s already yours.
What Is Botox?
Botox is a purified form of botulinum toxin type A that works by temporarily relaxing targeted facial muscles. The muscles treated are responsible for repetitive movements like frowning, squinting, or raising your eyebrows. Over time, these movements lead to fine lines and wrinkles.
By relaxing these muscles, Botox smooths existing lines and helps prevent new ones from forming.
Common Areas Treated With Botox
Botox is very versatile and is always customized to your facial anatomy and goals. The most common areas treated include:
Forehead lines
Frown lines between the eyebrows, also known as 11s
Crow’s feet around the eyes
Brow lift for a more open and refreshed look
Lip flip for subtle lip enhancement
Jaw slimming and teeth grinding, also known as TMJ
Platysmal bands, or neck bands
What to Expect During Your Botox Appointment
A Botox appointment is minimally invasive and not very time-consuming. Depending on the consultation portion, appointments typically last anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes.
Here is how a typical appointment goes:
A free consultation to discuss your goals and medical history
A customized injection plan with facial cleansing and mapping
A series of small injections using a very fine needle
Most clients describe the sensation as a tiny pinch, and there is little to no downtime. Your provider will go over what to do and what not to do after treatment.
When Will You See Results?
Botox does not work instantly, and results appear gradually.
Initial effects are typically seen within 3 to 5 days.
Full results appear around 10 to 14 days.
Results generally last about 3 months, depending on how your body metabolizes the product.
With consistent treatments, many clients notice they need fewer units over time as the muscles become trained to relax.
Botox Myths, Busted
Myth #1: Botox will freeze your face
When done correctly, Botox enhances your natural features while still allowing facial expression.
Myth #2: Botox is only for older clients
Many people in their 20s and 30s use Botox preventatively to help slow the formation of deep wrinkles.
Myth #3: Botox is unsafe
Botox has been FDA-approved for decades and is extremely safe when administered by trained medical professionals.
A Note on Safety and Choosing the Right Provider
It is very important to schedule with a provider who has proper training in administering Botox. As a client, you should always ask what type of neurotoxin is being used during your appointment and remain involved in your own care.
It is never safe to purchase Botox online or to administer this product on your own. This is extremely dangerous and Botox should only be administered by a qualified healthcare professional.
