How to Prepare for Your Custom Spray Tan
Proper preparation makes all the difference in how your spray tan applies and how long it lasts. Before your appointment, you will receive guidance on exactly how to prep.
In general, exfoliate thoroughly twenty-four to forty-eight hours before your spray tan, paying extra attention to dry areas like elbows, knees, ankles, and hands. Avoid oily scrubs or products that leave heavy residue. On the day of your appointment, shower but skip lotion, oils, deodorant, perfume, and makeup if possible. Wear loose, dark clothing and shave or wax at least twenty-four hours prior.
Spray Tan Aftercare
Aftercare is just as important as application. After your spray tan, avoid water, sweating, and tight clothing for the recommended development time. When it is time to rinse, use lukewarm water and gentle products, then pat skin dry.
To maintain your glow, moisturize daily, avoid long hot showers and exfoliating products, and gently blot the skin after workouts instead of rubbing.
